Description

Create a magical Northern Lights Glow Candy that glows under black light! This fun and easy homemade candy is perfect for parties, holidays, and special occasions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup tonic water
  • 1 teaspoon riboflavin powder (Vitamin B2)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon citric acid
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (blue, green, purple)

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup, and tonic water. Heat until sugar dissolves.
  • Add citric acid and riboflavin, stirring well.
  • Boil to 300°F (150°C) (hard crack stage) using a candy thermometer.
  • Divide into bowls, add food coloring, and swirl together.
  • Pour onto the baking sheet, allow to cool, then break into pieces.

Notes

  • Best viewed under UV or black light for a glowing effect.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
  • You can replace tonic water with riboflavin powder for a stronger glow.
